A Story on the Move: Maine Tourism Launches Mobile Marketing Initiative — Tides to Trails

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lewiston, Maine — May 2026 — Some places are discovered on purpose. Others seem to find you.

The Maine Office of Tourism, in partnership with NorthEast Charter, announced the launch of a new mobile marketing initiative designed to bring Maine’s story directly to travelers across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Eastern Canada.

At the center of the initiative is a fully wrapped motorcoach—one that will travel tens of thousands of miles over the next two years, carrying with it the imagery, identity, and spirit of Maine. More than a traditional advertisement, the coach serves as a moving introduction to the state, appearing along highways, in city centers, and at events where travel plans often begin.

Unlike a stationary billboard, this approach meets people where they are. It shows up in the everyday—on commutes, at rest stops, outside conventions—and offers a moment of recognition. A reminder. Sometimes even a first impression.

This last weekend, the coach transported the Central Maine Community College baseball team to DuBois, PA to participate in the USCAA Small College World Series.

“Maine has always been a place that stays with you long after you leave,” said a representative from the Maine Office of Tourism. “This initiative allows us to bring that feeling beyond our borders—inviting people to experience Maine before they even arrive.”

The motorcoach will operate along key travel corridors and make appearances at festivals, trade shows, and community gatherings, where it will serve not only as a visual centerpiece but as a point of engagement. Designed with both impact and interaction in mind, it invites people to pause, take notice, and consider what a trip to Maine might look like.

Northeast Charter owns and operates the motorcoach and its day-to-day operations. With a strong reputation for safety and service, the company brings both experience and regional reach to the partnership.

“There’s a deep sense of pride in being able to represent Maine in motion,” said Scott Riccio, CEO of NorthEast Charter. “This coach isn’t just wrapped in graphics—it’s wrapped in the communities we serve, the roads we know, and the experiences we help create every day.”

Built with premium craftsmanship and designed through close collaboration, the motorcoach reflects both Maine’s tourism vision and NorthEast Charter’s operational excellence. As it travels, it becomes a consistent, visible presence—one that keeps Maine top of mind for travelers across the region. Because sometimes, all it takes is a moment on the road to start thinking about where to go next.

About the Partnership

The Maine Office of Tourism and NorthEast Charter & Tour have collaborated to create a two-year mobile marketing initiative aimed at expanding Maine’s reach across regional and national markets. Through strategic routing and high-visibility placement, the motorcoach will serve as a traveling ambassador for the state, promoting tourism and increasing awareness of Maine’s destinations and experiences.
