Northeast Charter & Tour is currently seeking a full-time mechanic to join our maintenance team. We are seeking a capable and responsible person who has the experience they need to help diagnose and repair our fleet of vehicles.

 

This position requires a good team player and someone who is committed to helping us maintain the highest of safety standards. Previous experience in the motorcoach industry is preferred, although not required. Proficient communication skills, the ability to work hard and efficiently, and to share our passion for excellence is a must.

 

Responsibilities include the day-to-day maintenance of the most diverse fleet of vehicles in Maine, accurately filling in and submitting required reports and paperwork, and working with the lead mechanic to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.

Full Time Mechanic – B Level

Northeast Charter & Tour is pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a mechanic to join our shop team. We are seeking a capable and responsible person who has experience and a proven track record of setting and meeting goals.  Previous experience in the motorcoach industry is preferred, although not required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform basic engine diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform A/C diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform basic electrical diagnostics and repairs.
  • Work well with shop supervisor and other staff.
  • Communicate well with all fellow employees and ensure a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized work area including tools and shop floor.
  • See all assigned jobs through to completion.
  • Participate in training & certification as needed.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and reports.
  • Perform inspections, services, and repairs within specified timelines.
  • Assist lead mechanic with parts lookup and sourcing.
  • Work within the Northeast culture of safety, professionalism, and service.

Requirements and Prerequisites

  • Willingness to work hard and efficiently.
  • Able to make sound decisions and prioritize workflow with minimal supervision.
  • Full understanding of air-brake systems (must obtain air brake certification).
  • Able to read electrical, A/C, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proficient at welding, soldering, and brazing.
  • Current Maine Driver’s License (CDL preferred).
  • Must have a high school education or its equivalent and two years previous mechanic experience. Heavy-duty diesel engine knowledge-experience preferred but not required.
  • Correctable eyesight, depth perception, and hearing.
  • Physically able to perform in a high-demand job.
