A national movement to support our customers.

A national movement to support our customers.

Last week the Northeast Family of Companies participated in a historic event. We joined over 1000 motorcoaches who traveled to Washington DC where we represented the tour and travel industry and how this crisis has affected us all. This unprecedented “Rally for Awareness” brought together operators from all around the country, from California to Alaska, Florida to Maine with one cause… to remind the government that without buses full of people the amount of small businesses that are suffering is unimaginable.

Our message was heard. This week we have seen fantastic progress in the fight to keep buses rolling and the businesses we serve filled with people. First, we saw a letter that circulated through the House and Senate supporting our cause and asking for relief, this letter carried with it the signatures of over 120 elected officials. Then we saw as Vice President Pense acknowledged the importance of the industry and the over 800 million passenger trips each year we provide, stating that “they move America” and committed to making sure that it was addressed.

We have seen countless news stories around the country including national coverage about Northeast Charter and Tour (see below) and that coverage has helped make our collective voices heard.

We know that real recovery will look like busses rolling down the roads, business opening their doors to groups of people, and travelers feeling welcome once again to come to the great state of Maine to enjoy the beauty and majesty we are known for. We know we share that hope with every hotel, lobster shack, restaurant, brewery, and business that counts on buses full of people to make it through.
While we aren’t there yet, we are starting to be able to see it from here and that makes us very excited. Thank you to all those who are booking trips now for later in the year. We couldn’t do this without you and we are ready when you are!
