A pile of potatoes can go a long way!

A pile of potatoes can go a long way!

When trouble hits, humanity heals. We had the privilege of helping pass on something as simple as homegrown Maine potatoes to the DC Central Soup Kitchen this morning. VIP Charter out of Portland Maine heard about the need and found a solution. The DC Central Soup Kitchen was in need, with the events and shortages of food and funds due to the pandemic, it has left them with mouths to feed, but limited ways to get it done. The pallets of bagged potatoes to be donated to the soup kitchen were delivered to our Lewiston area garage and loaded for our 500 mile trip south on Tuesday morning.

We are proud to be the transportation for the precious cargo. And thrilled that our empty luggage bays were able to support getting the potatoes to the DC Central Soup Kitchen.

“I never knew that potatoes could bring so many smiles to so many faces,” said Scott Riccio, President of Northeast Charter and Tour. He was on-site with the driver from Northeast Charter for the DC delivery.
